Welcome to the London and District Distress Centre Volunteer Speakers Bureau!
The Speaker’s Bureau conducts presentations at various community organizations, service clubs, and interest groups. Through the Speakers Bureau, staff will provide face-to-face communication with important community organizations that can spread the word and help fulfill our mission by promoting awareness of our services.
Speakers Bureau Goals
The London and District Distress Centre Speakers Bureau is created as part of a Promotions and Awareness campaign initiated in 2007
The objectives are;
- to create awareness about the telephone support lines
- to dispel myths about mental illness
- to breakdown barriers and open discussions
- to recruit new call volunteers
- to enhance opportunities and outcomes in our community
