London and District Distress Centre is looking for caring, connected individuals to serve on the Board of
Directors. We value caring, confidentiality, community, character, leadership, understanding and
volunteerism. We are looking for committed individuals who have some time and passion for the
community they reside in and would like to contribute their skills and experience to enact positive
change.
London and District Distress Centre is a community-based organization that provides individuals in need
with short-term empathetic listening and confidential telephone support, operated 24/7 by highly
trained and caring volunteers.
The Board of Directors would like to include additional experience and skills to their already strong
team. Interested individuals with experience in the areas of IT, communication, adult mental health,
fundraising, and business are being sought. Additionally, the Distress Centre serves the broad cultural
landscape that is the London community and strives to ensure that it is reflective of this community.
Board positions would commence as available or at the Annual General Meeting held in mid-September.
New Board members are expected to attend meetings regularly, be a champion for the Centre in the
community, commit to the Centre's Mission and Values, and support the premise of not for profits and
volunteerism.
